Questions & Answers
Turnaround/Processing Time:
> For most items I need 2 weeks work time before I can send the item to you. This is because I make each piece of jewellery by hand especially for you. If you require something urgently please contact me by email at hello@kindolivejewellery.com and I will see what I can do.
Ring Sizing:
> Please do ensure that you order the correct size as I personalise each ring to order especially for you in your requested size. You can have your fingers measured at any jewellery store. You could also measure the inner diameter in mm of a ring that fits you well, multiply that by 3.14 (pi), and that is your equivalent German size. If you know your UK or US size just send me a note with your size at checkout. Also mind that wider rings fit tighter, so measure your fingers wearing the same width of ring that you plan to buy. For example if you want to buy a 4mm wide band, have your finger measured wearing a 4mm wide band.
Ring/Bangle Resizing:
> Please check the resizing possibilities included in the description of each item. In general, I will be able to resize most rings, up to maximum 2 sizes, at extra cost of between 35 € per ring without any gemstone and 70 € per ring with a gemstone. I can resize most bangles up to maximum 1 size at extra cost of 35 € per bangle. Note that the resizing to a larger size is achieved by stretching the item, and this means that as the size gets bigger, the thickness will become thinner. If you would like a resize please purchase this listing: https://kindolivejewellery.com/products/resizing.
> In some cases resizing will not be possible, because of the design, please check the resizing possibilities included in the description of each item.
> Resizing on orders to the USA is not possible at all, no exceptions.
Returns and Refunds (right of withdrawal):
The right of return applies only to customers located within the EU.
> Returns are accepted within 14 days but please note the exceptions listed below:
> Returns are not accepted on Rings because they are personalised for you in your specific size. If necessary, I can resize the ring for you, more information on this can be found in the "Questions & Answers" link. In some cases ring resizing will not be possible, because of the design. Please see the information regarding returns that is mentioned on each item listing.

> A return will need to be made within 14 days of the item being delivered to your address, and the item must be returned unused and unworn in the exact original condition and in the original packaging. Please ensure that you use tracked and insured delivery, as I will not be able to refund if I do not receive the item back, and you will have to lodge an insurance claim with your shipping provider. Note that you are responsible for the cost of sending the item back to me. Once I receive the item back, I will refund your original purchase price immediately, but please allow a few days for the funds to make their way into your bank account.

Jewellery Care:
> All of my jewellery is made from solid gold and silver. With proper care it will last a lifetime. This includes: storing jewellery away in tissue paper, a soft cloth or a jewellery pouch when not in use; not wearing whilst doing washing up, cleaning, using chemicals, or exercising with gym equipment and weights; not wearing when in prolonged exposure to ocean or swimming pool water. Gemstone jewellery items are especially sensitive to all of these, and should be removed before engaging in those activities.
> I do not use any gold-plating or gold-vermeil finishes which fade away. My gold items will not fade or tarnish. My sterling silver items will eventually darken over time due to oxidisation, as all silver does. You can use a polishing cloth to brighten the silver again.
> To clean your jewellery, use a soft toothbrush and mild soapy water.
A note on the recycled gold and silver that I use:
> The recycled gold and silver that I use comes from Europe's largest refiners and processors of recycled precious metals. It is 100% recycled from medical equipment, scrap jewellery, electronics, coins, cutlery and giftware. Because of the extra work involved in the recycling, it costs a little more. The fineness and purity of the gold is .333, .375, .585 or .750, the exact same as standard 8ct, 9ct, 14ct or 18ct gold; and .925 for sterling silver.
> All the recycled yellow gold and silver that I use is nickel-free.
A note on gold in general:
> 8ct (333) gold is 8 parts pure gold and 16 parts mix of silver/copper/zinc.
> 9ct (375) gold is 9 parts pure gold and 15 parts mix of silver/copper/zinc.
> 14ct (585) gold is 14 parts pure gold and 10 parts mix of silver/copper/zinc.
> 18ct (750) gold is 18 parts pure gold and 6 parts mix of silver/copper/zinc.
8ct and 9ct Gold have a slightly reddish hue, because a higher percentage of copper is included, 14ct gold is more light yellow in colour but not as yellow as 18ct, and 18ct is bright yellow. Also to note - different manufacturers of gold add the silver, copper and zinc (sometimes also nickel) in different percentages, so it is not unusual at all for 9ct (or 8ct, 14ct and 18ct) gold items bought from different sellers and manufacturers to differ in hue.
